The South Sefton pipes and drums wants’ you to join this pleasant, friendly band with a relaxed atmosphere with our No pressure, No competitions, No bullshit policy. Our Pipe Major is highly experienced and has been involved with pipe bands for over 20 years. We are a relatively new band but have 6 experienced pipers and 2 solid drummers, we’re a family and work friendly band and work on the principal of “work and family come first”. The band will concentrate purely on band performance and playing at public and private functions.

The SSPD from time to time will refer some pipers who will benefit to the piping course in Oban to improve the individuals and bands performance. The SSPD are not bothered if you are a graded piper/drummer or not, you will be treated equally regardless of experience. However, we are interested in what you have to offer if you would like to be a member and would just like to play.

We will also welcome pipers and drummers from other bands and will respect commitments to other bands (Subject to the SSPD Pipe major’s approval) and will be accepted on the individuals own merits. The SSPD will take you even if you don’t know how to play an instrument. We will teach you your desired instrument from scratch.
