Literature in Pubs Literary Discussion Group

Date posted: Sunday 27th September
Location: Liverpool

Literature in Pubs (LIPs) is a community group of like-minded people searching for literary stimulation in the relaxing atmosphere of pubs and cafes. We are a book group with a difference, in that we enjoy the relaxing setting of a pub to discuss in.

Currently the meetings are held at The Ship & Mitre pub on Dale Street in Liverpool city centre, on the 3rd Monday of every month at 6pm.

The aim is to provide an informal setting for people to come and discuss their ideas in relation to a piece of literature once a month. No literary background is required, just a passion for discussion.

Upcoming Discussions:

19th October 2009 - 6pm - Ship & Mitre Pub, Dale St. Liverpool

Memoirs of a Survivor by Doris Lessing

16th November 2009 - 6pm - Ship & Mitre Pub, Dale St. Liverpool

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn

21st December 2009 - 6pm - Ship & Mitre Pub, Dale St. Liverpool

The Collector by John Fowles
