Project Manager (Infrastructure) job, North West
The Company
My client is one of the UK's largest and most diverse multidisciplinary consultancies, with over 4,000 staff in 50 UK offices and a 2008 turnover in excess of £280m. They are currently looking for an Infrastructure Project Manager to work in a North-West office.
The Role
The Infrastructure Project Management team is a sub team within the larger Project Management team sitting within the regional business. The successful candidate will be reporting to a senior Infrastructure Project Manager. The role will involve the management of a range of capital infrastructure schemes and programmes of work including all aspects of delivery from inception and feasibility through to construction and handover. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the role will provide ample opportunity for career development.
Responsibilities
The appointed Project Manager will be responsible for delivering existing and future commissions, which include major programmes, transport programmes, highway improvements and public realm schemes.
Essential Criteria
- Degree qualified in a construction related discipline
- PM experience in consultancy managing multi-disciplinary design and construction schemes.
- Experience of Microsoft Project.
- Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety
- Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to motivate teams and work in close partnership with clients.
- Must be delivery driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives.
- Experience of dealing with projects that impact on the general public.
Remuneration Package
- Salary - negotiable depending on skills
- Money Purchase Scheme Pension - Contributory 6% - 5%.

Desirable Criteria
- Experience of preparing bids and securing new business.
- Local Authority Experience.
- Experience of Public Sector project delivery.
- Experience of a range of procurement methods.
- Experience in the preparation of Major Scheme Building Cases for government funding.
- Experience in developing and delivering Bus Priority/Rapid Bus Transport Schemes.
