Humans Resources officer
Required for 2 days per week.To assist the Human Resources Manager/Senior Personnel Manager to produce and develop a comprehensive range of Council and Departmental policies and procedures and to give advice to Chief Officers and their senior managers on their application and to provide all operational personnel services to a specified area.
Person spec as follows:
CIPD Graduate or substantial relevant experience
Specialist Knowledge
Employment Law, policies & procedures
Knowledge of the method of staff supervision
Local Government Terms & Conditions
Local Government policies & procedures
Knowledge of recruitment safety checks
Practical & Intellectual Skills
Excellent communication skills, both written & oral
IT skills, including word processing & database
Self motivation & good time management
Capacity to work under pressure & meet deadlines
Ability to respond to the changing needs of the service
Ability to deal tactfully & diplomatically with people at all levels
Ability to interpret legislation, policies & procedures
Ability to implement and enforce quality standards
Ability to produce & present reports to managers
Ability to supervise staff
Personal Circumstances
Ability to work additional hours in order to meet deadlines within the core hours
Willingness to work additional hours on weekends (3/4 per year) to ensure large tasks are completed
