Youth Offending Team Officer, Lancashire (Temp)
Youth Offending Team Officer required to join the children and families youth justice team on a short term temporary basis. Ideally candidates will have a minimum 2 years working knowledge within children and families settings, with experience of court work and youth offending procedures, although candidates with less but fully relevant experience will also be considered.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To prepare reports for the Courts, Youth Offender Panels and to manage cases that are
supervised by the Youth Offending Team. To do this in accordance with Youth Offending Team policy, procedures and national standards
2. To undertake assessments of young offenders using Asset.
3. To undertake assessments of parents and Onset assessments on behalf of YISP.
4. To ensure that statutory requirements are met in connection with cases managed.
5. To recruit, train and support volunteer mentors to work with young people and their
families.
The successful candidate will need to hold a degree in criminal justice services, youth and community services or social work. Candidates with a degree in social work will need to hold a GSCC registration or at least in the process of attaining the registration. Candidates will need a current CRB (issued in 2009) and hold a valid UK driving license. The post is looking to run for a minimum 2 months contract.
