Credit Controller 6 month contract
CREDIT CONTROLLER:
6 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT / PERMANENT.
£16K - 18K
Includes 25 Days holiday.
Objective of role:
* To reduce level of outstanding debt, improve cash flow and ledger profile through direct client contact.
* To support fee earners remotely with all aspects of their credit control requirements
* To assist the National Credit Manager in monitoring the fee earners' compliance with the UK credit policy and working capital management procedures
* To provide a level of service to internal and external clients which is consistent with that of a top professional practice
* To monitor issues arising from credit control functions to expedite an effective and efficient system that is agreed by all interested parties
Key Tasks
* Management and administration of Edinburgh Sales Ledger, ensuring all credit policy and procedures are adhered to at all times
* Collection of overdue bills strictly in line with the defined collection process and ensure that all actions are recorded on the credit control database accurately, concisely and to a standard that can be reported at a senior level
* Monitor the resolution of ongoing fee earner collections and queries in-line with defined collection cycle
* Produce, circulate and monitor unpaid bills reports in line with UK credit policy
* Learn and comply with the firm's accounting policies and the firm's statutory obligations (to include VAT and the Scottish Accounts Rules) in relation to credit control
* Liaise regularly with the National Credit Manager and other members of the UK credit control team to discuss salient matters and to produce and administer any work as and when necessary
* Monitoring client account balances held against unpaid bills and liaising with national cashiering teams as necessary
* Attend in house training as and when necessary
* Any other ad hoc duties as agreed within the department - to include filing of invoices, assisting with distribution of monthly statements to clients and production of fee breakdowns for clients in accordance with agreed service levels
